Mitsubishi Paper Mills has concluded the business partnership, related to the battery separator market, with Beijing National Battery, in September 2018. Beijing National Battery had  been producing the lithium ion battery (LiB) for the electric business in China while Mitsubishi Paper Mills was producing nonwoven fabric separators for LiB. The partnership between the  companies yielded  heat-resistant separator made of composite material of nonwoven fabric and ceramics particles (trade name: NanoBase X). Mitsubishi will continue to jointly develop of LiB and its separator materials  for the vehicle installation using NanoBase X, aiming at the development of LiB superior in safety at high capacity.
